Laura & Chris' farm wedding was just the perfect way to finish up my 2016 wedding season! A few weeks ago I flew up to Boston and drove up to Freedom, Maine to photograph their sweet wedding day...I loved every minute of it! New England in the fall is spectacular-- the air so brisk, the leaves so colorful. Laura & Chris' wedding was intimate and meaningful, the setting beautiful and perfectly suited for their celebration.
These two actually work at Villageside Farm, which gave the whole wedding day a really sweet sense of meaning and community. Laura originally planned to use the flowers she had grown for the florals, but after caring so tenderly for them, she couldn't bring herself to cut them down! Which is where Belladonna Floral comes in, a farm just down the road. Did they not do just a perfect job on everything!?! The floral design is so organic, natural, and so so so pretty.
The food was definitely one of my favorite parts, though. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinking warm cider and exploring the farm while the couple took some family formals. Then everyone walked through the woods to the sweetest little restaurant next door, The Lost Kitchen. From the amazingly fresh hors d'oeuvres of cheeses and nuts and crisp vegetables and dips, to soup and clams and salads and the fried chicken entree. It was all SO GOOD. I am already hoping to return to Freedom to eat there again...!
Last but most certainly not least, Sandy at Bea & Company did the best job helping the day run smoothly. I so enjoyed working with her and highly recommend her if you are looking for a wedding planner in the New England area!
I'm so happy to share these images with you and to congratulate this sweet couple!
