Maine is by far, one of my favorite places to visit. I love the quiet, beautiful feel of it. Washington, ME was no exception--a teeny rural town just off the coast, Washington felt so serene. I loved traveling up the coast to photograph this church ceremony and backyard wedding reception, seeing the beautiful landscapes and enjoying the long drive.
These two tied the knot at The Village Church, a tiny little chapel at the center of town. Afterward, we headed over to the bride's family's home to celebrate, eat, and dance. I loved the bridesmaid's floral crowns and all the wildflower centerpieces--courtesy of Seasons Downeast Design! The bride looked beautiful in her Elizabeth Fillmore dress, that she found in a bridal shop up in NYC. Swan's Way Catering did a beautiful job on all the food, I especially loved the simple, summer-ey cake they prepared for these two, covered in ripe strawberries. The day was perfectly suited for film--the beautiful light, long summer evening, the colors, the details, the joy...what a delight to photograph!
My favorite part of this backyard wedding in Maine was how relaxed and special the day felt. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time, including the bride and groom! It was intimate, had a few meaningful and thoughtful touches, and finished with such genuine celebration. I hope you enjoy just this peek at their day...!
